Who is this course for?

Assuming only a basic knowledge of Windows, the topics covered on this course will give you the basic skills to use Outlook for managing e-mail and organiser functions such as the contact lists and the diary.

What do I need to know before attending?

It is assumed that you have basic Windows skills. An awareness of electronic mail is an advantage but not essential. 

 

What will I expect to achieve at the end of the training?
At the end of this course
you will be able to:

  • Use Outlook to send and receive electronic mail.
  • Create contact lists (Personal Address Book) to hold e-mail addresses and information that can be called up by other Office Applications.
  • Manage the Outlook diary with respect to appointments, events, and tasks.

Contacts
Creating, sorting and viewing contacts.
Using the contacts folder to send messages.
Creating distribution lists.

Calendar
Overview of the Calendar folder.
Creating appointments and adding all day events.
Setting up meeting requests.
Reading other users calendars and sending calendars as an email.
Overlaying and viewing calendars simultaneously.

Tasks
Creating a task and setting reminders.
Managing on going tasks.
Marking tasks as being complete.
Integrating into the calendar.

Notes
Use of electronic 'Post It' notes to capture random events.
